Deadworld Zombie Comic Being Adapted by David Hayter

In addition to voicing Solid Snake, David Hayter is a screenwriter credited on X-Men, The Scorpion King, X2, and Watchmen. Variety reports that Hayter has signed on to write and develop an adaptation of Image Comics' Deadworld zombie comics. Bill Mechanic will produce and co-finance with Framelight. Mechanic brought on Hayter in hopes of turning the story into a franchise and the project ended up being a perfect fit for Dark Hero Studios, a company which Hayter formed with Benedict Carver. Aside from writing the script, Hayter will conceive and design the look of the film. The plan is to begin production sometime next year.

Deadworld is set four months after a worldwide zombie apocalypse. Instead of a human protagonist, as they are few and far between in this world, our main character is King Zombie, a Harley-riding corpse who holds a grudge against the survivors who made him an outcast. ...
